Famous and influential stallions in the
Walking Horse
industry.
Wilson's
Allen, Sired by Roan Allen F-38 - Dam Birdie Messick F-86 the foundation
mare with the gene pool of the Hals. When the great of the Walking Horse breed are listed, WISLON'S ALLEN
will find a place reserved at the top. Judged in terms of the time in
which he lived, the degree of promotion he received, the undeveloped status of
the industry during his lifetime, and his impact on the breed no Walking Horse,
with the possible exception of his son MIDNIGHT SUN, has approached the
significance of this great stallion. With ALLEN and his immediate
offspring, the Walking Horse emerged from the realm of misty potential into the
world of reality. Breeders of saddle horses in Middle Tennessee
immediately recognized them for what they were, "..the world's greatest
pleasure horse." Of course, the word 'pleasure" changes its
connotation from generation to generation, but regardless of the term's meaning
the Walking Horse clings to its title as the greatest. The ALLENS had it
all, ease of gait under saddle, adaptability as a utility animal, general
temperament, sturdiness, and that more elusive characteristic, nobility.
Wilson's Allen was the sire of the Grand Champions from the first showing in
1939 through 1946. Strolling Jim,
Haynes Peacock,
Melody Maid,
City Girl
and Midnight Sun.
Merry
Boy, Sire of two World Champions,
BLACK ANGEL and MERRY GO BOY. It would be impossible to find a living
Walking Horse whose papers do not carry the blood of MERRY BOY and
WILSON'S ALLEN. Both were able to pass on the greatness of their
ancestors, and, through the genius of nature, each added new dimensions to
the greatness. Son of ROAN ALLEN F-38 and MERRY LEGS. In
addition to this paternal boost he was foaled from one of the most
influential mares ever developed by the breed, MERRY LEGS. Since MERRY
LEGS was by ALLAN F-1, as was BIRDIE MESSICK, the dam of WILSON'S
ALLEN, the two stallions were three-quarters brothers.
Midnight
Mack K, was definitely a champion of his time, one of the best horses
ever shown in Celebration competition that did not win the Grand
Championship. MACK K. is accepted by many authorities to have been a
better horse than most that did win the coveted title. If the Grand
Championship escaped MACK K., other honors did not. RODGERS' PERFECTION and
MACK K'S HANDSHAKER, earned their sire's glory by becoming World Grand
Champions at the Celebration, both these sons of MACK K. sired offspring
that also won the Grand Championship, such as: WGC 1964 GLL's Carbon Copy,
WGC 1976 WGC 1978 Shades Of Carbon, WGC 1978 Mark Of Carbon, WGC 1966
Shaker's Shocker, AND WGC 1976 Handshakers Delight.
Pride
Of Midnight H.F., He was the
son of Midnight Sun WGC 1945-46 and Pride of
Stanley. Pride was a leading sire of his time,
producing
a legacy of countless world champion offspring in every division, including;
1982 WGC Pride's Secret Threat, 1984 WGC Delight Of Pride, 1985 Pride's Final
Edition, 1986 WGC Pride's Jubilee Star and his son 1995 WGC Pride's Sundance
Star, WC Pride's Gold Coin and his son 1987 WGC Coin's Hard Cash, WC
Pride's Generator, and his two sons 1994 WGC Gen's Armed & Dangerous, and
1997 WGC Santana. He was the pride & joy of Harlinsdale Farm.
Pride's Gold Coin,
one of the most influential breeding stallions of his
time. Winning multi World Championships, and 19 World Grand Championships.
Prides Gold Coin was sired by PRIDE OF MIDNIGHT, out of the great broodmare,
Delight's Joanna. Standing at prominent breeding farm Harlinsdale Farms.
Prides
Generator, TWHBEA's #1 Sire of the
Year
voted in percentage and total points for seven consecutive
years. Prides Generator was an incredible sire to the bred.
Last Chance,
by HUNTER'S ALLEN out of MERRY LEGS. The sire of many great
Walking Horses in the bloodlines of today.
1981 WGC "The
Pusher C. G.", has earned the highest awards offered by the Walking Horse
industry.
